Important USCIS and legal notice

MiCaso is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by USCIS, DHS, or the United States government.

MiCaso does not provide legal advice or guarantee immigration results. Official immigration information should be verified directly with USCIS or a qualified legal professional. Case status information displayed by MiCaso comes from USCIS when available.

Information we collect

• USCIS receipt numbers entered by users to request case status information.
• User account information, if account features are available or used, including name, email address, login-related data, language preference, and account preferences.
• Documents, images, PDFs, notes, categories, or other user content you choose to upload to organize your case.
• Support messages, deletion requests, correction requests, or other messages you send.
• Technical logs such as request time, request ID, browser or device data, IP-related technical data, app version, product interaction data, diagnostics, and error logs.
• Payment, billing, or transaction-related information if paid features are offered through a third-party payment provider.

How we use information

• To check USCIS case status using the USCIS Case Status API.
• To display USCIS case information and related updates to the user.
• To provide educational explanations that help users understand case updates, while recognizing that official case status comes from USCIS.
• To save cases, documents, USCIS history, notes, settings, and preferences.
• To provide support and respond to user requests.
• To maintain, secure, debug, monitor, analyze, and improve MiCaso.
• To prevent fraud, misuse, unauthorized access, excessive automated requests, security incidents, or other harmful activity.

USCIS Case Status API

When a user enters a USCIS receipt number, the receipt number may be sent from the MiCaso backend to the USCIS Case Status API to retrieve case status information. MiCaso uses USCIS API data only to retrieve and display case status information.

USCIS credentials and access tokens are never exposed to the browser or mobile app. USCIS communication is handled from the backend using server-side environment variables and server-side controls.

Documents and sensitive information

Immigration documents may contain sensitive personal information. Only upload documents you want to store in MiCaso. We use reasonable safeguards and infrastructure controls to help protect uploaded files, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Data sharing

• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not share data except as needed to provide MiCaso, comply with law, protect security, prevent abuse, or use trusted service providers that help operate the service.
• Service providers may include hosting, database, storage, authentication, email, analytics, diagnostics, payment, app distribution, and support providers.
• We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, a valid government request, or when necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or service integrity.

Security

MiCaso uses backend-only USCIS communication, server-side environment variables for USCIS credentials, and reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to reduce unauthorized access, misuse, and disclosure.

Data retention and deletion

We keep information only as long as needed to provide MiCaso, maintain service operations, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, debug issues, prevent abuse, and support security. Technical logs may be retained for operational and security purposes.

Users may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information where applicable. Some information may be retained when needed for legal, operational, security, backup, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legitimate business purposes.

Children

MiCaso is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to MiCaso, please contact us.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of MiCaso after an update means the updated policy applies.
